Learn to Diffuse a Confrontation.

The most important thing when you’re learning different methods of diffusing situations is to take charge of the situation.  This is what does a lot of women in, not being able to take control over the situation. If you’re in a meeting and a client gets too close, or if you’re at a friend’s house for a party and an acquaintance won’t take no for an answer, or if you’re walking on the street and a predator approaches you knowing exactly how to take charge of the situation without being confrontational and setting boundaries gently but firmly can help you avoid being attacked.

The techniques used to diffuse a situation are really effective when you’re dealing with a spouse or an acquaintance that is threatening you or has hurt you in the past.  Diffusing that person’s anger or rage can give you a chance to safely get out of the house or call the police before you get hurt.  If you think that someone close to you could attack then these techniques can be very useful. This is especially important if the person has a problem with drugs or alcohol. When that person is drunk or high he or she is not in his or her right mind and is all the more dangerous.
